The reluctance to use a walking stick is linked to a perception that a person is abdicating independence and social validity by using one. It is a shame when walking sticks have the potential to do the opposite.
Additionally, using a walking stick has the potential to improve physical coordination, strength and conditioning through exercise, with the potential that physical decline can be slowed, halted or even reversed.
There are a multitude of ways to do this. Join a gym, a weight loss program, community classes, that sort of thing.
Assume though, that such external, public options are not suitable to how a person is feeling either physically, mentally or emotionally, Where else can a person go to improve their physical mobility? Well, the internet of course...
